Is Magic Kids Clothing online store legit?
I think it’s a scam of sorts – has anybody ever shopped on their website or become a rep for them? You get a referral number assigned and allegedly earn money for every sale made using your referral number. Somebody I know signed up to do it…..BBB gives them an F rating. I can’t find specific complaints, though. Anybody familiar with them? There is a letter on the site signed by Isaac Mizrahi, but the picture there doesn’t look like the famous designer… How do I convince my friend that it’s unwise to invest?
I’m trying it out. I don’t think it’s a scam at all. Here’s the NetSolutions WHOIS: Magic Kids

I don’t place as much weight on a BBB report as I do on a FTC or State Attorney General report, and so far I haven’t seen anything fraudulent reported about this company. It’s been in business since the mid-1980s and the website was brought online in 2003. They don’t make any false earnings claims, and it’s a finder’s fee opportunity in the closeout/liquidation industry sector of kids’ fashion and apparel. You don’t sell anything, you refer people to the website and get a 50-50 split of the profits with the company. Though they label you as a distributor, you’re really a “finder” (of customers) earning a fee. You are allowed to buy at their wholesale prices and resell if you want to–you don’t have to though to make $.
The closeout/liquidation professional finders industry is legit and the opportunities are HUGE. You can do it independently on your own too. If you know where to go and how to structure your deal (contract), you can succeed and get paid handsomely.
Mr. Mizrahi’s company is no different than the thousands of others doing the same thing buying merchandise for pennies on the dollar and then reselling it at a profit, only he offers some guidance (a plan) about how to make $ with this home business opportunity.
The cost to buy in is low compared to many business opportunities (less than $200), with lots of benefits (no boss, set own hours, no inventory, no employees, no accounting, no product fulfillment, no building rental, no overhead just some paid and non-paid marketing is required–the company handles all of the other business expenses and responsibilities), considering the money potential. Since I just signed up today and am waiting for my kit, I haven’t made $ yet.
The Alexa web site rank is only 167,346 but I think that’s due more to the fact that not a lot of people out of millions know about it or the high quality, low price clothing that is there.
Probably a lot of people sign up and then don’t do anything or don’t follow the marketing plan. There’s a double guarantee given and you can option out and ask for a refund within a specified period of time (more than 30 days).
Mr. Mizrahi is a multi-millionaire so I doubt he needs the nominal sign up fee, it probably just covers the cost of basic marketing collateral and weeds out people with no money. You have to spend some money to make a lot of money in the real world.
My gut feeling is that it has a lot of good potential for a person who’ll make a genuine effort to work the business. I wish your friend all the best in her enterprise. She has the guts to go for something and whether it’s this opportunity or another, she has every chance of making it as compared with someone who doesn’t even try.
